Making Tax Digital For Income Tax
I’m an MTD specialist helping Sole Traders and Landlords across Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire stay compliant without the stress.
What Is MTD for Income Tax?
Making Tax Digital is HMRC's new way of reporting income.
Instead of one tax return a year, you now keep your records digitally and send HMRC a short update every quarter, followed by a final declaration at the end of the year.
It's a big change to how many people run their books. The good news is that it doesn't have to be complicated.
Does It Apply To Me?
It depends on your qualifying income: your self-employment and property income added together, before expenses.
Over £50,000: MTD applies from April 2026
Over £30,000: MTD applies from April 2027
Over £20,000: MTD applies from April 2028

Common questions
I'm under the threshold. Do I need to do anything? Not yet, but it's worth getting ready. Moving to digital records early makes the switch much easier when your turn comes.
Can I keep using spreadsheets? In some cases, yes, with bridging software that connects your spreadsheet to HMRC. I'll help you decide whether that or full software suits you better.
I already have an accountant. Can you still help? Absolutely. I can handle your day-to-day records and quarterly updates and work alongside your accountant at year end.
My books are behind. Is it too late? Not at all. Getting neglected records back on track is something I do regularly. Let's get you caught up
